To repurpose this sewing cabinet to a hutch I used these wall hung shelves for the top of the cabinet.
Although the width was a great fit, the height did need to be cut down a bit. I added trim under the shelves and at the top then backed it with reclaimed tongue and groove cedar boards. Inside the cabinet, I added a shelf and covered it with fun paper.
For the door, I dressed it up with wood veneer appliques and used the original hardware.
Then covered it all with a timeless red color and lightly dark waxed.
