I didn’t have a need for the depression mechanism that was in the bottom of this school library cart because I just use it for wood storage.
Throwing it in the trash was not an option, though, because it was just too cool. I had to make it into something useful. After stretching it out to maximum height I used reclaimed lumber to support it. The top was rusted to perfection, so I left it exposed and covered the bottom, and added a shelf with more reclaimed lumber.
Then as usual, finished it off with big old casters. I not sure what to call this quirky piece but the style is certainly industrial chic.
