I built this table years ago and although the top is long gone due to weather damage the base is still in great condition. I thought the sawbuck style was perfectly suited for a reclaimed wood top so I went digging through my barn board stash.
I started by running one layer of boards lengthwise then laid another layer in a chevron pattern. I left all the great “character” and just covered it with polyurathane to protect it from the weather. Then painted the table base and yard sale find chairs in a blue-grey exterior paint. The stenciled stars on the end chairs give it a country look and would also be perfect for a July 4th picnic.
