Hi, my name is Dora Rudolph, a.k.a. Dora the Restorer. I realized at a very young age growing up in Alaska, that I had an interest for building. My father would bring home pickup loads of scrap wood from jobs sites, which would be firewood in the winter and forts in the summer.
I now reside in the Pacific Northwest with my husband of thirty-five years. We have four grown children, eight grandchildren, and four granddogs. My passion, second to working in my shop, is riding on the back of my husband’s Harley.
Over the years, I have gradually taken over my husband’s power tools and of course, added more to the mix. I’ve made a lot of mistakes along the way but have learned with every new project. I have discovered that I thoroughly enjoy the challenge of taking a broken down, tired piece of furniture and making it sturdy and loveable once again.
The purpose of this blog is to show and share ideas on how to reinvent unwanted yard sale items into cherished upcycled treasures for your home. My hope is that my blog will help others see outside of the box when shopping yard sales and thrift stores.
All of my reinvented and handmade treasures are for sale exclusively at Persnickety’s Awesomeness Emporium. http://www.thatpersnicketyplace.com/
